Celebrating your husband
What do you get your husband to celebrate his 50th birthday, particularly when he has everything he needs in life? One of my long term clients asked that very question in the lead up to her husband’s birthday. So we decided this session should be about ‘celebrating your husband’
I am very fortunate in my business, as many of my clients are my ‘client friends’. We share stories, we enjoy each other’s company, we laugh, we cry sometimes, we share triumphs, we share milestones.
Alan and Faye are no exception…..
This is photography story from a man’s perspective in this three part series, leading up to Father’s Day – as we celebrate our husbands and fathers.
What I loved about this photo session experience, was that the primary focus was the husband. We don’t regularly see men, and especially Dads, in photographs on their own. They aren’t usually the focus. Typically it’s the kids, or mum with the kids. I had photographed Faye several times up, both on her own, as well as with her daughters and her mother (three generation photo session). Faye took a backseat in this particular experience and empowered Alan to step up and be 100% involved. What a gift it was for him.
Alan has a beautiful connection with his wife and two daughters, a warm and inviting home, and life filled with passion and possibility. It was a real joy seeing this come out in these photos….
While exploring concepts with Alan, during his Discovery Session, I discovered just how much he loved watching the James Bond series of movies with his two daughters. It inspired conversation, fun, creativity and bonding between him and his daughters.
“We have lots of photos from Emotive Images of the girls in our family but none with our one and only man (husband and father) so this shoot was to celebrate his 50th birthday and to capture a photo legacy for later on.” – Faye
What will come of ‘James Bond’ as he goes on a magnificent journey of creativity, fun and peppered with some bad guys to protect his daughters from? Stay tuned for the next adventure with Alan *ahem* I mean Bond, James Bond. *wink*
